Working hard before the holiday

I've been working really hard in the gym this week so that I can enjoy myself this Thanksgiving weekend. A combination of yoga and two workouts with my trainer have given me more energy during the day and sounder sleep at night. Although my arms and legs might be shaking, I push myself as hard as I can in order to reach my goal and I figure, if I'm waking up at 5:30am, I better make the workout worth it!

Today we did sparring for the first time. It was exciting to hit someone, but more difficult than it looks! I know my arms are definitely going to be sore tomorrow. Hopefully that will keep me from shoveling too much stuffing into my mouth.

Enjoy the holiday!

The Box

Yesterday was my second day of training and Jason, my trainer, pulls out this box that's at least 1 1/2 feet tall and tells me to jump on top of it. If any of you are watching this season of the Biggest Loser, it's the same box that Dina had trouble with. Just like Dina, I was apprehensive to jump onto the box, especially because Jason had positioned it right in front of the glass mirror. The only thought going through my mind was that I was going to bash my face into the mirror and require plastic surgery. I persavered and made it through 20 jumps before we moved onto the next task.

I completed pull ups, push ups, ball tosses, balance exercises and more, and despite a little soreness today, I was very proud of myself for making it through the box exercise unscathed.

Meet your trainer, Jason

Today was my first day with my personal trainer, Jason. He's tall and lean and called me his dream client because I already keep a log of my workouts in a notebook. I'll be training with Jason for the next three months and hope to lose inches around my waist, while also toning my arms and legs.

Jason gave me off tomorrow and I'm grateful because I am already starting to feel my muscles aching. The strangest thing that he told me was to shower with hot water and then switch the water as cold as possible and then switch back to hot, repeating the process three times. The craziest part about that was that it felt really good! I would recommend it to anyone after a hard workout.
